I am a researcher in computational biochemistry. I founded the companies YS Consulting and Yasmin Shamsudin Consulting in 2016 and 2024, respectively. During my PhD, I was writing and publishing scientific articles while also proofreading and editing scientific articles, theses and degree projects for friends and co-workers, written in Swedish and English. Being multilingual, I have years of experience in translating between Swedish and English.

After taking a class in scientific writing at Uppsala University, I learned that there are lots of little secrets about how scientific manuscripts should be written. When friends told me that they had never learned how to write scientific papers and were frustrated that their manuscripts kept getting rejected, I decided to create courses and workshops to teach more people how to write more clearly, and increase their impact. During my subsequent research fellowship at Stanford University I attended another scientific writing course offered by the university.

All of my research and writing experiences come together in Yasmin Shamsudin Consulting. We now offer scientific consulting, including molecular simulations, scientific writing coach services, which include proofreading and editing services, and courses, seminars, and workshops in how to write scientific articles. Our clients have come from universities and research institutes around the world, including in Europe, Asia, and North America.
